Shane unfortunantly did not make the olympic team. and funny enough not for the reasons the media has portrayed it to be. shane was told briefly after the world titles that he had not made the team for the reason that he had not competed in the team sprint events. on the list of best medal chances at the olympics it went Team Sprint, Keirin then Sprint in medal chance order. since shane did well at the world titles and completed a PB qualifying time and coming in 10th position in the sprint event it still meant that he missed out on olympic selection.
